TOMSPAVE is a useful acronym to help you identify the factors that need to be considered when picking a valve
What does TOMSPAVE stand for?
Type: 2 way, 3 way, Other
Operation: N.O., N.C., Universal
Media: Air, Water, Oil, Gas, Steam, Other
Size: Port size(s), in BSP, NPT or Other
Pressure: Inlet pressure in kpa, bar, or psi, and minimum/maximum pressure
Atmosphere: Environmental factors such as if it is outdoors, wet, hazardous, temperatures
Voltage: AC/Hz or DC
Extras: any other factors such as special leads, explosive environments etc.
